Your journey begins when a horn falls out of the sky. With a development period of over five (!) years, Samorost 3 feels like the consummation of Amanita’s ethos: endlessly charming, occasionally frustrating, and deeply suffused with a sense of wonder. Playing it today, it acts as a sort of proof of concept for Amanita’s later releases - wordless, minimalist, and surreal - and was followed by Samorost 2, breakout hit Machinarium, and the nature-themed Botanicula. This contemplative style of point-and-click adventure has been Amanita Design’s signature since the release of its first game, the original Samorost, in 2003. You’re meant to take a breath, poke around, and watch what happens. Nothing is spelled out for the player, quite literally. Save, load, and quit are all represented by simple, self-explanatory symbols.įrom the very outset, Samorost 3 positions itself as a game about observation and interpretation. Even the main menu is deliberately minimalist. The unnamed, pajama-clad space gnome that you control communicates purely through grunts and gestures, and the NPCs that you encounter speak in animated speech bubbles. Aside from the credits and the occasional numerals or coded sequence of letters, there’s no written text in the game. I give this game a 8.5 out of 10 and for yet another great delivery by this classic indie dev, a thumbs up from me and suggestion to all of you to try it out.Samorost 3 is a wordless game. My Final Verdict, Samorost is back with it’s classic point and click adventure genre with a well written story and characters with its third game in the installment. It has amazing characters which makes us fall in love with them and get attached with them. Samorost 3 is a heaven for artwork and good point and click gameplay. Each secrets that will be discovered will carry achievements that will unlock. each planets have their own secrets which can be discovered. Samorost 3 is a plain, simple and peaceful experience without any combat where players are allowed to travel from planets to planets. Bosses and main villains are to be defeated using trickery. The sole objective of this game is solving puzzles and exploring. Some characters are with emotions, some characters are with angers, which without any dialogues, are intriguing enough to know the story itself. Players have to go through hand drawn environments which are pleasant to the eye. There is no dialogue in Samorost 3 but the way the story is being told to the players is itself is a masterpiece point and click. Their is a wrath on the loose that vowed to destroy the entire galaxy and you have to put an end to the wrath. In order to stop this, our protagonist has to travel various planets hurdling across various wildlives and challenging environments. Their is also an old disciple who is on the loose, who vowed to take this flute in order to control a dragon to rule over the entire galaxy. Our protagonist soon discovers that the same flute was owned by monk’s powerful cult. The flute allows our protagonist to the sounds of the natural world and play the melodies that reveals the secret of the galaxies. The story is about a droopy nosed little man who is the protagonist, who sports a nightcap finds a flute falling from the sky. The first two games in the franchise were rather shorter than this third one where gameplay is multi hours long with plenty of discoveries awaiting to get discovered. It is a point and click game and this devs are specialists in doing just that. Samorost 3 is the latest video game by the czech indie developer Amanita design.
